Special Structure at the Ends of a Chromosome: the Telomere

bacteriophages, plasmids, and mitochondrial
DNA, the chromosomes of eukaryotes are linear.
Each end is ”sealed” by a specialized region, the
telomere. Telomeres stabilize chromosomes at
both ends.
